Christmastime

Dad's amazed that Christmastime is one word and I am amazed how much fun it is. This year we swapped our schedule, heading to Gigi & Papa's for Christmas Eve and then hosting Christmas Day at our place. Dad told me that when he grew up, most of the action took place on Christmas Eve, when his grandparents came over. This was the first time in a while that a larger group gathered in LaGrange and I loved it. My cousins and I opened a ton of gifts, even after most of the adults ran out of theirs.
The next morning I woke up at home to a freshly stocked Christmas tree and stocking, thanks to Santa. He got me a cool Batcave, some Star Wars toys, a couple of games and a GIANT penguin, aka Fluffy Guy. Santa even gave Casey and I a co-present, in the form of a Penguin stocking cap.

O Tannenbaum

I'm really starting to get into this whole Christmas thing and Dad decided to stoke my spirit a bit more with a trip to Sprout Home to get our first Christmas tree. On the day we went, it happened to be the first good snow of the season, so I got to play in the snow a bit on the walk to the store and we also saw some of our neighbor's snow creations. Luckily, Sprout was close enough for Dad to carry our tree home to decorate it by the first fire in our new house. I made sure to tell Dad to make sure the fire was out before Santa comes down the chimney on Christmas. He promised it would be.

He's Back

The big guy showed up at Bullfrogs & Butterflies again this year. At first I was a bit hesitant to sit on his lap, but I broke the ice by letting Santa know that when I got home I was gonna poop. He replied, "Better at home, than on my lap." The whole store laughed at the back 'n' forth, including my Daddy, who snapped this photo of me asking people to stop laughing.

Merry Christmas!

SANTA!

On Saturday, December 20, Santa stopped by Bullfrogs & Butterflies, my local toy store, and Mom and Dad braved the snow, so I could say hi. the big guy was old, but friendly, and I got a candy cane out of the visit. I was excited to meet him in person, as I watched him in The Polar Express almost daily for the past two weeks. Some kids were not as happy to see him and started crying.
